A Confirmation Sponsor can be a baptized and confirmed Catholic 16 years or older. Parents of the candidate are discouraged from acting as a sponsor. It could be a grandparent, godparent, aunt or uncle, cousin, older sibling, friend, or neighbour. Candidates are invited to choose someone that will help and support them in living out their faith and using the gifts of the Holy Spirit that will be bestowed upon them in Confirmation.
